30 Years of land planning

I have over 30 years of experience in land planning, land development and long-range city planning initiatives. As a result of this extensive experience, I developed a comprehensive understanding of government processes and development implementation. My previous roles as a city planner and consultant provides an integral understanding of city and regional land use and development policies as they relate to securing city support for my client’s projects and the community’s long-range goals. 

Through my 15 years of public service, I upheld, enforced, created and explained the purpose of local zoning ordinances and city policies to countless residents and governing boards. The following 15 years I served as a planning consultant and director of the planning department for multiple land development consulting firms. 

My career included preparing and implementing comprehensive plans both within a city and regional capacity. I have written hundreds of ordinances and planning/environmental reports for multiple cities and property owners throughout the metro area. 

I believe my degrees in Geography and Political Science provided me both the physical and political backdrop of navigating land development within the political process. l was fortunate to have worked in all aspects of land development including; county, cities, regional agencies and private development. 

I truly enjoy the connection of development to the community. ln my career I’m constantly meeting with and presenting before policy makers and the public. I enjoy the interaction and the ability to find resolution to potential conflicts.
